This is a non-exhaustive chronology of Oranjestad-related events, which may reflect political events and important global events that have influenced the development of present-day Oranjestad.

Prehistoric & Ancient History

  • 13,000 BCE - The area where New Orange City is today is first inhabited
  • 6,000 BCE - Earliest evidence of civilization in what is now Saturn Valley
  • 3,000 BCE - The mythical city of Calantha was built, ruins of which still persist to the present
  • 1100 - 1250: The medieval community of Skylan existed within Skylan mountain

Early Settlements & Growth

  • 1654 - The Explorer's Guild is built in the wilderness, of what would become downtown Oranjestad
  • 1739 - Orangetown is born in what is now the Olde Orangetown neighborhood, laying the foundation for the burgeoning city of Oranjestad
  • 1790s - Homestead takes root on the banks of the Budapest River, marking the beginnings of a new community.
  • 1814 - Haverhill neighborhood is first settled.
  • 1815
    • Oranjestad's influence extends as Garbanzo becomes part of its dominion through the Treaty of Alqualonde, which settled numerous disputed claims between Mainland and Oranjestad.
    • Summit Fruit Company secures Blackmill
    • The Treaty of Alqualonde bring Etouffee into Oranjestad's fold
    • Coda, another beneficiary of the Treaty of Alqualonde, adds its presence to Oranjestad's diverse tapestry.
    • Pemmican votes to join Oranjestad, embracing a colonial status within the growing city.
  • 1823 - Voynich, once a military outpost, becomes a colony under Oranjestad's banner.
  • 1828 - Shadynasty is founded as a tea producing colony
  • 1833 - Alfa Beach, initially known as Isfahan, experiences its first settlement
  • 1837 - Blackmill gains the status of an official colony
  • 1838 - Buckingham Green is founded, conceived by the vision of businessman Nicholas Klusman

  • 1899 - Brahmin Beach's acquisition, marked by its sale to the city, solidifies its place within Oranjestad
  • 1900 - Both Pennsy and Monon farming communities are founded.
  • 1902 - Irvington's annexation furthers its integration with Oranjestad
  • 1910 - Gerlach elects to join Oranjestad
  • 1911 - Saturn Valley attains protected zone status, limiting future developments
  • 1917 – Berkeley Pit High School is built in Homestead, mostly underground due to land constraints.
  • 1920 - Submerciful establishes itself as a shopping area, later expanding into a full-fledged neighborhood in 2006.
  • 1939 - Pennsy and Monon are annexed by Oranjestad
  • 1946 - Isfahan, now dilapidated, is bulldozed to make way for Alfa Beach's establishment, reshaping the coastal landscape
  • 1955 - The Sister Grimsby is completed, becoming the tallest building in the city at the time.

  • 2022
    • Hibiscus seeks protection under Oranjestad, becoming a dependency
    • Lanolin elects to become a dependency
    • Beef Stew becomes a dependency

  • 2023
    • The TechnoCore's corruption by God-Emperor Deblon marks a tumultuous period of control and upheaval in New Orange City, known as the Technocore Siege of 2023
    • Oranjestad would become New Orange City and a new city banner is unveiled
    • Zombocom Tower, the tallest building in the city, is completed
    • The Ring of Kefir's completion becomes a symbol of architectural prowess
  • 2024
    • The Ghastfire Skyshield Air Defense System is installed and activated, with 12 platforms installed around the city
    • The Order of the Orange Flame, an ancient sandstone temple complex perched on Skylan Mountain, opens its doors to outsiders for the first time.
    • Major developments transform the Aboite neighborhood into an urban landscape. The changes include a major extension of Tier 3 in the form of the Aboite Skyway, the addition of 4 towering skyscrapers, and a new subterranean area between LIKEA and Top Golf, known as Lower Aboite.
    • A massive new cave system is discovered beneath the city, primarily around Aeolus Remnants, Aboite, and Pennsy. The system is quickly divided into new developments: Kier, Gonda Hall, Corea Cavern, and Molfsee, each with their own unique purpose and styles.
  • 2025
    • The Molfline opens to the public. The winding cart path, developed by the Molfline Tours company, takes riders on an dizzying journey through several parts of the city
    • Not to be outdone by their ancient Orange Flame rivals, the Obsidian Order expands their compound around and beneath their Bakajin Tribunal and begins offering limited outdoor tours to outsiders (though the interiors of the ancient towers remain off limits).
