Gonda Hall
Gonda Hall is a vast and architecturally striking underground corridor in New Orange City, connecting several critical subterranean districts. It stretches 600 meters in length and serves as both a vital transportation route and a residential hub. Named after Mike Gonda, a tech billionaire who funded its excavation, Gonda Hall is an integral component of the city's underground infrastructure.
Description
Gonda Hall runs from Kier in the south, connecting to Molfsee in the east, Corea Cavern in the west, and the districts of Lusus and Saturn Valley to the northwest. It lies directly beneath the neighborhoods of Aboite, Aeolus Remnants, and the independent village of Budapest.
The hall is approximately 75 meters wide along most of its length, with a larger central chamber that houses a mix of residential and structural support facilities.
Architectural Features
Wall Design: Gonda Hall continues the dark stone aesthetic of Kier but introduces horizontal red and tan sandstone stripes that alternate along its walls and pillars, creating a striking visual contrast.
Flooring: The floor is composed of thick glass panels interspersed within a sandstone grid. Embedded lights beneath the glass softly illuminate the pathway, adding both functionality and beauty.
Ceiling Design: The ceiling alternates between black, dark blue, and purple. Small embedded white lights are scattered randomly across the ceiling, resembling distant stars.

The Central Chamber
The hall’s central chamber opens up into a large residential and structural space featuring:
Residential Housing: Six residential buildings accommodate approximately 1,400 individuals, including:
- Three pillar skyscrapers.
- Three apartment complexes built directly into the walls of the main chamber.
The narrower sections of the hall remain open and unpopulated to serve as a mass evacuation route in times of emergency.
Functions and Purpose
Gonda Hall fulfills several key roles within New Orange City's subterranean network:
Connectivity: Gonda Hall links Kier, Molfsee, Corea Cavern, Lusus, and Saturn Valley, providing a seamless pathway between these important districts.
Evacuation Route: The open and spacious design of Gonda Hall allows it to serve as a major evacuation route, connecting dense downtown areas and the populous Molfsee neighborhood with Kier’s secure shelter system.
Infrastructure and Ventilation: The hall provides essential infrastructure and ventilation, supporting the systems of both Kier and Molfsee.
Historical Significance
Gonda Hall is named after Mike Gonda (b. 1972), a tech billionaire who played a pivotal role in funding the extensive excavation and construction required to create this vast corridor. His contributions to New Orange City’s underground development have left a lasting legacy, with Gonda Hall standing as a testament to his vision for interconnected, secure, and sustainable urban spaces.
Public Perception
Gonda Hall is widely regarded as an engineering marvel and a vital part of New Orange City's infrastructure. Its blend of functional design, striking aesthetics, and strategic importance has made it a symbol of progress and innovation within the city’s expanding subterranean world.
