Molfsee
Molfsee is the easternmost underground district of New Orange City and its most densely populated subterranean region. Nestled beneath portions of Aboite, Pennsy, Monon, OAX International Airport, and the College of Minds neighborhoods, Molfsee serves as a thriving residential and infrastructural hub. It connects directly to Gonda Hall via two wide corridors, linking it to the rest of the underground network.
Description
Molfsee is defined by its dark, atmospheric aesthetic and strategic urban design. Key features include:
- Black ceiling embedded with artificial starlights, mimicking a vast night sky.
- Blackstone flooring, providing a durable and cohesive look throughout the district.
- Sunken walkways, creating distinct pedestrian pathways separate from transit routes.
- Dark copper accents, lining the walls and architectural features, adding a rich contrast to the dark stone.
The U-shaped (horseshoe) layout of Molfsee averages a height of 100 meters, allowing for towering structures and open space. As of this writing, Molfsee has a rapidly growing population of approximately 7,000 residents.
Architecture and Structures
Molfsee features 38 distinct buildings, the majority of which are residential towers that double as support columns for the city above. These towering structures form the backbone of the district, providing both housing and stability for the surface neighborhoods.
Unlike other regions of New Orange City, most buildings in Molfsee are restricted to residents only, creating an enclosed and self-contained community.
The Molfline
Molfsee is the starting and ending point of the famous Molfline, a suspended cart path that allows tourists and residents to zip across much of the city. The Molfline provides a unique aerial perspective of the underground world, weaving through many of the city's subterranean districts.
The Obsidian Order
The southwest section of Molfsee is dominated by the Obsidian Order, whose temple complex extends deep underground from its surface facilities on Rainbow Mountain. This area is known for its eerie and mysterious features, including:
- Jagged stone spires, spikes, and unusual rock formations.
- Strange pulsating ores, glowing faintly in purple hues, hinting at unknown properties.
- Organic-looking rock walls, as if the stone itself was once alive, twisting and folding into bizarre, alien shapes.
The Molfline carves its way through this eerie landscape, providing one of the most thrilling and rollercoaster-like sections of the entire system. Riders experience dramatic dips, sudden turns, and breathtaking close encounters with the strange formations, making this section a must-see attraction for those daring enough to ride.
Future Expansion
Molfsee is one of the fastest-growing underground districts in New Orange City. As demand for subterranean housing and infrastructure increases, more residential towers, support columns, and community spaces are expected to emerge in the coming years.
The district's combination of high-density living, unique urban design, and integration with the Obsidian Order’s enigmatic domain makes it one of the most fascinating locations in the city’s expanding underground network.
