Overview
The Molfline is a suspended cart path that zips tourists across much of New Orange City, providing a one-of-a-kind aerial perspective of the city. This high-speed rail weaves through subterranean districts, passing through tunnels, caverns, before breaching the surface to soar above downtown.
Despite its popularity, the Molfline is one of the city’s most controversial transit systems—built without approval or permits. The project was constructed at an incredible pace, a deliberate tactic by its creators to establish it as a permanent fixture before authorities could intervene. Several lawsuits are currently pending against the company behind it, but so far, the Molfline remains operational.
Route & Experience
The Molfline Tour Company operates the rail, with routes frequently changing to encourage repeat visits. The current path includes:
- Molfsee (Starting and ending station)
- Gonda Hall
- Corea Cavern
- Neo-Lusus
- Lusus
- Bar-U-Bar Agrotronic Center (Massive hydroponic farming complex)
- Dick Hallorann Mega Complex
- Kier
- Downtown Breach (The Molfline ascends, offering a high-altitude view of the city before descending again)
The full ride takes approximately 8 minutes, with no stops along the route.
Construction & Controversy
The Molfline Tour Company built the rail system entirely without city approval, bypassing regulations and launching an aggressive build-first, legalize-later strategy. The rail’s rapid construction made it difficult to dismantle before it had already become a hit with tourists.
Despite multiple ongoing lawsuits, the Molfline continues to operate, with new routes frequently introduced to keep the experience fresh for returning visitors.
Notable Features
Provides unmatched views of New Orange City’s underground and skyline. Popular among tourists despite its shady legal standing. Route changes keep the experience dynamic and unpredictable. No official city backing, making it an infamous example of corporate defiance in urban planning.
The Future of the Molfline
While city officials debate its fate, the Molfline’s success has made its removal highly unlikely. Love it or hate it, the Molfline has become a permanent fixture in New Orange City, proving that sometimes it’s better to ask for forgiveness than permission.
