Enveloped within approximately 100 meters in depth and 60 meters on each side, Bar-U-Bar stands as a subterranean agricultural colossus. Equipped with cutting-edge technology, the facility utilizes advanced sensors, elevating platforms, packing and shipping facilities, and efficient transportation systems to ensure a highly productive and sustainable operation.
Year-Round Harvest
With a commitment to providing a diverse array of fresh produce, Bar-U-Bar Agrotronic Center maintains 17 levels dedicated to the hydroponic cultivation of fruits and vegetables. This technological marvel enables the facility to contribute to the city's culinary landscape year-round, regardless of external weather conditions.
Integrated Access Points
Bar-U-Bar seamlessly connects with the surrounding neighborhoods through four major access points. An underground path leads to Caldwell Hall, while a stairway provides direct access to Haverhill. Additionally, entrances to Saturn Valley and the Dick Hallorann Mega Complex offer expansive gateways to the broader city.
Community Living
Beyond its agricultural role, Bar-U-Bar serves as a haven for community living. A total of 179 homes, ingeniously integrated into the exterior walls of the facility, accommodate around 440 residents. The majority of these residents actively contribute to the center's operations, forming a closely-knit community that thrives in the subterranean embrace of Bar-U-Bar.
