Summit

Summit is the eastern half of Oranjestad's central business district, containing the headquarters of many prominent companies. It's name originates from when the area was once the highest point of the canal and lock system in Oranjestad.

History

Summit's growth can be attributed to two major factors: The first arose after the discovery of the Lusus Caverns beneath the area in 1871, bringing an influx of prospectors and mining infrastructure jobs. The second was the annexation of both Irvington and Alfa Beach in the early nineteen hundreds, when the new source of tax dollars brought investors seeking a location close to the main ports and shipping canals. From that point forward the area grew substantially, as many skyscrapers were constructed.

Composition

Summit comprises an area bounded by Skylan Highway to the west, Shai-Ling Road to the east, Saturn Valley to the north, and Brahmin Beach to the south.

Most of the residential units in Summit are conversions of older buildings into modern loft spaces. Single-Family homes are a rarity in the district, with just a few along the rim of Lusus.

Oranjestad Fire Dept

• The Oranjestad Fire Department is home to eleven 'bucket men', who are trained in quickly navigating Oranjestad's many stairways to combat fires. Most buildings are equipped with fire suppression systems and large fires are extremely rare.

Fountain Square

• Fountain Square on Tier 1 is home to Fountain Square Home Furnishings. Items Found: Crafting table, bed, furnace, chest, jukebox, enchantment table, ender chest, cauldron, armor stand, flower pot, bookshelf, all color carpets

The Jackson

• The Jackson is a retail tower, featuring a Costa Copy, Stankonia Laundry, and Brock's Baguettes.

Burdwurld Building

• Burdwurld features two businesses and one non-profit religious center: Great Fermentations beer and wine hobby store, Lava Lips hot sauce tiki bar, and The House of Revenants.

Bear Heart's Gems

• Bear Heart's Gems is a small gem shop on Tier 3. Items Found: Nether Quartz, Emerald, Diamond, Gold Nuggets

Wagering Lights Elementary & Middle School

• This new-age school is part of the Oranje County School District. It is located on Tier 3.

The New Delhi Deli

• Oranjestad's only Indian cuisine restaurant, located on Tier 3. Items Found: Carrot, Soup

Pastafarian Primary Care

• This small doctors office offers primary healthcare services to Oranjestad residents

Podopo Tower

• Podopo Tower is linked to all three tiers and has a private tier 4 connection. The tower is home to 5 businesses: Venezia Nuova Regional HQ, You Deserve The Best Of Things (The Shire's original headshop), Claymation Company & Co (selling all types of clay), Markhor Realty, and the corporate offices of Green B.E.A.N. Delivery.

Ballantine Hall

• This residential tower is six floors of condominiums, and has about 16 occupants.

Brockstone Building

• The Brockstone, built in 1932, is a six floor tower with 5 apartments.

The Libertine

• This Neo-Traditional Oranje style tower is home to three tenants: The Fashion Haus of Claus, Hayfarer's Fashion Photography, and Prince Bojee Allabojah’s School of Learning.

Powers Hamburgers

• Powers Hamburgers is the oldest hamburger stand in Oranjestad. It is located on Tier 1. Items Found: Cooked Beef

The Thirsty Camel

• This bar, located on Tier 3, is a local favorite, and they don't take kindly to outsiders.

The Lady Alice

• The Lady Alice is home to The Red Knight Nightclub on the lower half, and Alice Records record company on the top half. The tower has a tier 4 connection.

Oranjestad Administration Headquarters

• This building serves as the city administration headquarters, and offers a unique viewing platform of Lusus.

Oranjy Farmers Market

• This farmers market features several stands, including: Redward's Tomatoes, Anthony's PURP DRANK, and Oliver's Oranjes. Items Found: Apple, Thin Potion, Golden Apple

Mantis Toboggan Memorial Library

• This serves as the main public library in Oranjestad.

Four Model Homes along Wizened Sage Rd

• These homes are all owned by single women, and each face the Lusus Plaza.

The Malcolm Hotel

• Oranjestad's largest hotel, constructed by local firm ASMR Architects.

The Shire Spire

• Previously Oranjestad's tallest tower, from 1989 to 2012.

The Monotoli Building

• Home to the Monotoli Company

Jenn Wasner Studios

• Customizable Visual Art Studio available for rent. Built on top of Wagering Lights school, with a connection to Tier 4.

AnthCorp Oranjestad regional headquarters

• The regional headquarters for AnthCorp is a prominent building on the skyline, with its bold black and white facade and distinctive spire. Accessible via Tier 4 and Tier 5 only.

The Clifford

• Condo building located on Tier 3 with five large family units, an observation deck, and a Carrot Crush Quenchery juice bar accessible on Tier 4.

Kismetic Brewing

• A local brewery based on Tier 3. Famous for their New Venice Pilsner

Vampire Empire

• A small, dark building located on Tier 3 where wannabe vampires cosplay

Gillian-G Apartments

• Featuring 5 large family sized units. Based on Tier 3.

Conspiranoia

• Museum of banned books and other literature on Tier 3.

The National Institute of Democracy and Free Market Capitalism

• A small building on Tier 3 dedicated to promoting democracy, freedom, and individualism

Orange City Watch Museum

• This museum is a replica of early Oranjestad defense towers that once existed in the area. This museum is on Tier 3.

Oranjestad Independence Monument

• A 68 meter tall obelisk, starting on Tier 3 an extended upward past Tier 4.

George's Pharmacy

• A small pharmacy on Tier 3.

Elkintosh Vertical Farms

• A small proof-of-concept greenhouse for growing food on Tier 3.

'Et Cetera Park II

• A small corner lot of greenery on Tier 3.

DoubleTake Hotel

• This hotel features just 3 guest rooms. It is located on Tier 1 right along the canal

CyberReality Stair Tower

• Providing access From Tier 1 all the way to Tier 4.

Garlic Tower

• This building on Tier 2 features a garlic bulb shaped domed roof

Tom's Diner

• An old fashioned diner on Tier 2.

SUDS Bar & Grill

• Across the street from Tom's Diner - this is a popular sports bar

'Dr. Rinker Orthopedic Clinic

• On Tier 2, offering orthopedic services including surgery

• Specializing in Workers Comp claims, drug testing, and physical therapy. Tier 2, next door to Dr. Rinker.

EscherXL Mall

• This indoor mall is located between Tier 3 and Tier 4 and features retail space for 11 stores. A glass domed event space is located on the top floor. The mall has connections to Tier 4, Tier 3, Tier 1, and Lusus.

Ryder's Rabbit Stand

The Chandril

• Offices for elected officials, featuring 12 private offices. Based on Tier 2.

Oracle of Oranjestad

• This event space is famous for its two massive circular stained glass windows

Bayraktar Offices

• This large office building is built off of Tier 3 and sits directly above the Valley View Hyperloop and Omegaloop stations.

The Orange Federal Building

• This complex is made up of three separate buildings - The House of Representatives chamber and the Senate chamber appear as large dome shaped buildings built upon large pillars. They are connected via skybridges back to a core central tower. The complex is built upon Tier 3 and extends to Tier 4. The buildings are famous for their polish white quartz exteriors.

Presto Tower

• A residential tower based on Tier 3, modeled after the Federal Building quartz designs. The building features 11 luxury units. It has a connection to Tier 5.

'Barbelo Prime

• This tower is based on Tier 4. It features a luxury clothing store on the first floor, with corporate offices and textile manufacturing facilities on the upper floors. The tower has 11 stories in total and is integrated into Tier 5 pathways.

Zombocom Tower

• The tallest building in New Orange City. This tower has its foundations on Tier 4 and has connections to Tier 5. The tower dominates the skyline with it's black and white clad exterior, red tinted windows, and multi-colored glass spire reminiscent of a lighthouse beacon. Home to the Zombocom Corporation, "You can do anything at Zombocom".

Bluth Banana Stand

• On the Tier 4 plaza

Oranje Waterworks

• Built on Tier 4, this tower houses the offices and testing facilities for the Oranje Waterworks utility service

Gorlami Condo Tower

• Standing on Tier 4 with Tier 5 connections. Features 13 middle class condos.

The Garol

• Built on Tier 4, The Garol offers 4 luxury apartments

Sandy May Textile Corporation

• Manufacturing facility situated on its own dedicated platform, with a connection off of Tier 2.

Squeakeasy Park

• This park is beneath Sandy May Textile Corporation and sits right along the canal system.

Fidelio's Broth Shop

• This 21 and older night time establishment can be found just below Tier 1 along the descending stairs of the Hyperion Gateway, which goes to Lusus.

Lord Nebbers' Private Residence

• Located directly beneath The Lady Alice and Brockstone Building

Kiefer Lightpark

• A multicolored glass bottomed plaza located on Tier 3, just outside of The Thirsty Camel.

Chumbawumba Juice Bar

• This juicery is located on Tier 3, just outside of EscherXL Mall.

Transportation

Summit is serviced by all five road tiers and has direct access to Skylan Expressway. It is crossed by four separate rail lines (Dulcia, Quintus, Omegaloop, and Hyperloop), and has stations on Tier 2, Tier 3, and inside the Monotoli Building near Tier 5. Summit sits directly above Lusus and many of the buildings have direct subterranean access. The area is also bordered by the core canals of New Orange City.
