Aboite

North Aboite, mainly referred to as simply Aboite, is a large neighborhood in east metropolitan Oranjestad. The area is primarily a commercial neighborhood, with several retail stores attracting shoppers from adjacent neighborhoods.

Neighborhood

Aboite is directly east of Meijin Hills, west of Pennsy, and north of College of Minds. The area is known for its wide avenues, extensive park system, and large, spread out lots - contrasting the density found in the western metropolitan area. The area rapidly developed in the 1990’s. A ‘South Aboite’ was planned, but an expansion by College of Minds ended any additional development to the south.

Administratively, the area also includes the OAX International Airport on the eastern edge of the neighborhood.
