The Baba Cultural Realm (Arabic: العالَم الثقافي البابلوني, al-ʿālam ath-thaqāfī al-bābalūnī) is a hypothesized cultural area consisting of the Sultanate of Baba, as well as other cities and settlements in southern Cactus County Region with cultural ties to the Sultanate. The research underlying this concept was developed during the 2025-2026 Cactus County Wiki Expedition by Karya Kelana Inc.
Lost (or Lost City) is a major city in the Lost Commonwealth. The city holds historical importance as the first city and the old capital of the Lost Commonwealth before it was relocated to the city of Ascension. Lost is also notable for its tourism economy.

Concept origin
Geography
The Cactus County Wiki Expedition Team was formed by Karya Kelana Inc. in 2025 to investigate and document builds in Cactus County Region. During the expedition, the team discovered connections of culture between the Sultanate of Baba and a number of nearby settlements. These cultural connections are shown in several forms, including mosque and mosque-like structures, canals, Arabic naming conventions, as well as _DESTRUCTOR_ being the WorldGuard (WG) owner of Baba and nearby settlements. Interests rose within Karya Kelana Inc., as research of these cultural connections and its publication would strengthen cultural and diplomatic relations within the region, as well as becoming a hallmark contribution of the expedition to the region and The Shire as a whole. Discussions within the team, with the advice of Shaykh Shabir al-Babaluni, produced a number of naming suggestions before eventually choosing "Baba Cultural Realm" or العالَم الثقافي البابلوني (al-ʿālam ath-thaqāfī al-bābalūnī) in Arabic. The "Cultural" word was specifically added to limit the definition of Baba's influence scope to a merely cultural one; this respects the sovereignty of settlements within the Realm.
Lost is bordered by the University of Clementine in the west and the Shire Dane International Airport in the north, which are parts of Clementine. Lost is also bordered by other Lost Commonwealth territories, which are the town of Lost Beach and the city of Found in the east and the city of Ascension in the south.

Areas
Lost is also situated between two large water bodies, which are the Clementine Bay (which has shared jurisdictions with Clementine) in the west and the Remnant Sea (shared by Lost, Lost Beach, and Found) in the east. The city also has a sandy bay branching from the Remnant Sea, named the Advent Bay. The north of the city is home to a river. Lost is included within Lost Valley Biome, identified by mild summers and cool winters.
The research from The Cactus County Wiki Expedition suggested that areas included within the cultural area must fulfill two of these requirements:
* Proximity from The Sultanate and its Cultural Realm, which suggests routine interaction and settling of Baba citizens. Included within these are:
** The Sultanate of Baba itself;
** Settlements near Baba; and
** Settlements near areas that are previously included within Baba Cultural Realm.
* Cultural evidence of Babalonian influence, which might manifest in several forms:
** Mosque and mosque-like structures, or
** Buildings and structures made by or with the Sultanate, or
** Common WorlGuard ownership or membership by _DESTRUCTOR_, or
** Other physical evidences of relationship with Babalonians or the Sultanate.
Several settlements qualify for these:

There is no set classification for these settlements since each displays a different form of Babalonian influence. This is evident in Osiria through socio-economic and diplomatic aspects, especially through its Baba-Osiria Canal, but does not show in its religious or architectural aspects. In Karya Kelana Inc. HQ, religious influence is presented through the funding and building of Shire Fraternity Mosque, but its architecture is distinct from a Baba-styled mosque. The HQ remains largely Southeast Asian and Temburan architecture-wise. Meanwhile, Saguaria has many traces of Baba-like architecture, including its great mosque. However, unlike Osiria and Karya Kelana Inc. HQ, Saguaria has no written record of social or diplomatic relationship with Baba. Its proximity with Baba compensates for such lack, hence its inclusion to the Realm. This case is similar to Kabush, with the additional support of common WG ownership by _DESTRUCTOR_. Yetu is perhaps the most significant in showing Babalonian political influence, with the suggestion of its provincial status of Baba, as well as many Babalonian flags around the town. Parkbench is included by the spillover effect of Baba-Osiria diplomacy and the resulting Canal, right next to the village.

Lost originated as a settlement in 1812 by Lostites, a previously nomadic ethnicity descended from Fraggle Rock human colonists and Enpeecees. The settlement was only formally established in 1900 following the formation of its first council, from which the 'Lostite' demographic name first gained definition.

The settlement was transformed into a city-state by Mech in August 11th, 2014 through the ratification of the Lost Charter. The charter effectively put the term 'Lost' (as a city-state) and 'Lostite' (as a demographic) to official and common use. The charter also established sovereignty, law, and freedom for Lostites. The implementation of the Lost Charter spearheaded economic and infrastructural growth in Lost during 2014-2015, which subsequently made Lost a significant economic and cultural power.
Settlements that fulfill only one of the requirements are not included. Among the examples are Enpeecee villages near Baba, with the exception of Parkbench. Most of these are overseas territories of larger empires such as New Sammichian Empire (NSE) and Equos Empire. Despite their collective history in the Battle of Baba, the NSE-owned villages do not show a visual trace of Babalonian culture. Another example is Sravasti. Despite being a desert town with a great mosque-like structure, Sravasti is located far from Baba. Its buildings also suggest differences of materials and style from Babalonian ones, and there is no written record of their relationship.

A particular consideration is made for Paarsdam, since the city constructed a mosque for the Sultan of Baba within its shores. However, Baba and Paarsdam sit on opposite sides of The Shire, which shows the enormous distance between them. These considerations deemed Babalonian influence in Paarsdam "inadequate for cultural significance". Paarsdam is thus withheld from being a member of the Realm. However, this might change if Babalonian culture contributes more to the builds in the city; this also requires future written records on Babalonian influence in Paarsdam.
Lost later experienced difficulties in constructing the palatial complex due to flawed architectural plans. This was followed by the failure to repay construction loans, which triggered a further chain of events leading to the Great Recession of 2016. As mayor, Mech received widespread criticism and decreased popularity, leading to his loss in the 2016 elections and his departure from Lost.

Arthur Daniels, supported by elite populists, replaced Mech as mayor. His administration was marked by escalated corruption, the expansionism of neighboring Clementine, and the rise of the Founder Movement opposed to the Daniels administration. The movement was led by Nich Carsi, former deputy mayor under the Mech administration, and advocated for a communal capitalist approach, less regulation towards building codes, and a greater social opportunity for Lost citizens. The Daniels administration suppressed the movement, which, combined with city overpopulation, led to the exodus of many Lostites from Lost. The suppression culminated in the arrest and execution of Nich Carsi, which led to Mech's return to Lost and his win in the 2018 elections.

Daniels alleged that the 2018 elections was a fraud and refused to step down. He subsequently decreed a cracdown on the Founder movement and the countryside settlements that were among the destinations of Lostian exodus. One of the settlements, Harvestead, was burned to the ground, which is considered as the starting point of the Lost and Found Civil War.

The Lost and Found Civil War resulted in a significant death toll and the draining of Lost's economic reserves. The war, along with the disclosure of elite corruption, diminished the defense of Lost. The second Mech administration, in the midst of the war, announced the dissolution of the city-state and the establishment of the Lost Commonwealth in February 10th, 2019, to contest the Daniels' regime. The war came to an end in 2020, with the collapse of the Daniels' regime and his flight from Lost.

The establishment of the Lost Commonwealth and the ratification of the Articles of Commonwealth officially designated Mech as President, made Lost its capital, integrated settlements around Lost, and commenced construction of the Found city. Its administration oversaw the development of the Pearl Casino and many high-end hotels, which made Lost a power in the tourism economy. The creation of the Ascension city in 2022, south of Lost, began the relocation of the capital from Lost to Ascension.

An earthquake in March 23rd, 2023 devastated the Lost Commonwealth, including Lost. The cause was later revealed as unnatural, as Chem, a bio-copy of President Mech made by TechnoCore, as well as his group detonated a seismic bomb under the grounds of the commonwealth. Chem previously conspired with Daniels (under the Anton Davies pseudonym), which he would betray later. This would later put Lost as a significant theater in the Technocore War alongside Oranjestad and other cities. The most notable war fought in this theater was The Paradox War, marked by temporal disturbances and interdimensional clashes. The earthquake, along with subsequent wars, costed Lost a much greater death toll than the Lost-Found Civil War in a short time and gave way for Chem to escape to other dimensions. After the war ended, the Lost Valley Authority was established to facilitate recovery from the war. Today, Lost is still rebuilding its economy while recovering from the earthquake and wars, which are commemorated as 3.23.23. The event is considered the most significant event in the history of Lost.

After 3.23.23, there are at least two notable dated projects within lost. The Lost Downtown and Riverside Revival Project started September 29th, 2024. Then, the repurposing of Lost Old Arena to a Chicken Ball arena is dated July 10th, 2025.

Advent Bay, where Mech first arrived before creating the Lost City

Lost later experienced difficulties in constructing the palatial complex due to flawed architectural plans. Clementine expansions, including the Shire Dane Airport, was a factor in sparking the Founder Movement

Arthur Daniels, supported by elite populists, replaced Mech as mayor.

The Lost and Found Civil War resulted in a significant death toll and the draining of Lost's economic reserves. The war, along with the disclosure of elite corruption, diminished the defense of Lost. The war came to an end in 2020, with the collapse of the Daniels' regime and his flight from Lost.

Borkia Hotel, a major hotel in Lost made during its height of tourism economy
