Ionia is a quaint and strategically located village in southeastern Oldeshire, known for its unique topography and partial fortifications. Situated southeast of College of Minds and Carvenhall, Ionia was first established by Mrstu and has since developed into a charming settlement with a distinct character.

Overview

Ionia is nestled within a bowl-shaped depression, surrounded by hills that provide a natural scenic boundary. This geographical setting not only contributes to the village’s picturesque quality but also plays a role in its defense strategy.

The village of Ionia is characterized by its blend of natural and man-made defenses.

Centered around a large central plaza, Ionia features a collection of homes and shops that form the heart of the village's social and economic life. Serving as a communal and commercial hub, the plaza is a focal point for village activities and gatherings. A small dock in the south caters to local waterborne activities, while open-air vendor stalls add to the village's marketplace ambiance. The walls along the west and northeast sides provide protection, with a natural rocky barrier fortifying the southeast side. The absence of walls along the north and south remains a curious aspect of Ionia’s design.

Ionia's small train station connects the village to the broader region via the Thule Line and the Quintus Line, facilitating ease of access for both residents and visitors.

Established by Mrstu, Ionia's development has been influenced by its geographical features and strategic location. The partial wall construction hints at a nuanced approach to defense, possibly reflecting the village's historical context and priorities.
