Arbiters are entrusted with comprehensive in-game privileges and capabilities that allow them to effectively moderate various aspects of the server. From monitoring chat and promoting players to higher ranks to addressing rule violations, Arbiters contribute significantly to fostering a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere within the Shire community.
Responsibilities
- Chat Moderation: Arbiters oversee and moderate in-game chat, ensuring that interactions remain respectful and align with the server's community guidelines.
- Rank Promotion: Arbiters have the authority to promote players from the Gaijin rank to Tyrule, recognizing active and engaged members of the community.
- Disciplinary Actions: In cases of rule violations or disruptive behavior, Arbiters can take appropriate actions, including kicking or temporarily banning players if necessary.
- World Editing: With full WorldEdit and VoxelSniper capabilities, Arbiters can assist in managing and editing the server's terrain, structures, and other in-game elements.
Trust and Selection
Arbiters are individuals who have demonstrated unwavering commitment, trustworthiness, and a willingness to assist and guide others within the Shire community. While the traditional path to becoming an Arbiter involves being a long-time and respected member— often with previous experience as an Architect— the selection process is not defined by a predetermined set of achievements or milestones.
Rare and Exceptional Role
The role of Arbiter is reserved for exceptional members of the community, and appointments are made only when the need arises for additional moderation support. Given the close-knit nature of the Shire community, the requirement for new staff members is exceptionally rare, making the role of Arbiter a coveted position.
Relationship with Architect Rank
Contrary to the Architect rank, which is earned through building achievements, Arbiters are chosen based on their demonstrated commitment to community values, helpfulness, and maturity. While some Arbiters may have previously held the Architect rank, it is not a prerequisite for assuming the role of Arbiter.
