Ritunim II is a monumental palace complex located in the northeastern reaches of Vanir, within the region of Postrema. The build was created by Aedesius, and serves as a spiritual successor to the original Ritunim, bringing forward its celestial themes with an even grander scale and heightened level of detail. Ritunim II is served by a dedicated station on the Thule Line, connecting it to the broader transit system of the Shire.

Overview

Perched atop a frozen plateau and framed by snowy expanses, Ritunim II towers as one of the most awe-inspiring structures in the Shire. This vast, symmetrical palace is constructed almost entirely in luminous whites, accented with shimmering golds and blues. The architecture blends gothic spires, classical domes, and fantastical flourishes, resulting in a structure that feels both divine and monumental.

A grand bridge leads visitors from the Thule Line station to the main complex, passing under an enormous gateway flanked by angelic statues. The entrance portal frames a towering sculpture of a winged woman, arms open in serene welcome. From the heights above, four towering goddesses preside over the palace — two archers and two celestial figures representing opposing elements or powers, locked in graceful tension across the skyline.

Notable Features

  • Celestial Statues: Perhaps the most striking elements of Ritunim II are the massive statues adorning its roofline. One figure in red appears to wield passion, while the other in blue holds wisdom.
  • Main Courtyard & Spire: The central courtyard, surrounded by intricate buttresses and arched halls, is illuminated by a sky-piercing beam of light, giving the impression of divine presence.
  • Grand Gateway: The entry archway, guarded by celestial archers and flanked by stained-glass mosaics, makes for a powerful first impression for any arriving traveler.

Cultural Role

The intent and lore of Ritunim II remain partially symbolic and open to interpretation. It is widely believed to be a place of divine authority or cosmic judgment, with its angelic and mythic motifs suggesting a connection to higher realms of existence. Whether palace, temple, or sanctuary, Ritunim II stands as a pinnacle of architectural achievement and spiritual wonder in the Shire.
