Wakea Palace is a grand coastal estate located on an isolated island in the northwestern region of Postrema. Designed and constructed by renowned Shire architect Smoot, the palace stands as one of the most visually serene and stylistically distinct builds in the region.

Overview

Wakea Palace is set against the backdrop of the open ocean, accessed via boat only. The palace itself features a striking teal dome with cream, gold, and terracotta detailing, giving it a regal yet tropical appearance. Its symmetrical design and central axis pathway draw immediate attention to the palace’s grand front entry, which leads into a vaulted atrium crowned with a chandelier and centered on a decorative reflecting pool and shrine.

The palace is surrounded by meticulously landscaped gardens, gentle waterways, and several white sand outcroppings that wrap around the island’s edge. Palm-like trees, rock formations, and flowering shrubs give the grounds a resort-like calm that contrasts dramatically with the more dramatic landscapes of Postrema.

Interior

The palace's interior is airy and sunlit, with sandstone colonnades, ocean views, and fine ornamentation. A central shrine floats in the main pool, beneath an oxidized copper roof, encircled by lanterns. Beyond the foyer, a raised stage with turquoise curtains and seating suggests that the palace may host gatherings, ceremonies, or performances.

Location & Connections

Wakea Palace is situated northwest of Coda, another small island settlement. While it has no dedicated rail connection, it can be reached by boat from surrounding coastal areas.
