Economy
Hermes has a large trading center and a bank. Traders and Merchants from all over the Shire go here to sell their things and buy local goods, like wine, grain and fish. Olympia uses the Drachma and its subdivisions. Its presence in world trade is growing rapidly with deals with Augusta Traianea and Arbemaisonnes.
Nature
Olympia's nature is known for mostly the Olympian Olive Tree, a very common tree in all of Olympia, and also fairly popular in other areas, like Arbemaisonnes, where Zal's Tree Collection has two Olive Trees. On Minos, you can also find the Olympian Spruce, which is a small tree very common in the Warzone Archipelago, where Minos is located.
The Natives & Culture
The natives are the Olympians. They look a lot like humans, but they have wings and are generally a bit taller than humans. Their wings can be used to hover like a hummingbird or fly like other birds, some of the fastest flyers can reach speeds up to 185 mph, that's almost a fast as the fastest bird on earth
The Olympians speak Greek with various accents across the world. The city of Poseidon has a very unique dialect sounding like Tahitian while using words from Olympian.
The cities of Olympia are all named after the 12 Olympian gods to honour them. It appears to be the case that the cities that worshiped their gods more have prospered rather than those that did not, as was the case with Hades.
Government
Each city has a council of 7 members of various social standing and wealth, which are decided differently for each city, and the High Priest of the god the city has as its patron.
Olympia as a whole is ruled by both a monarchy and an Archon Protarch that is elected every 5 years, and can be re-elected forever. The candidates are the 12 High Priests and are elected by citizens of Olympia, as soon as one gets elected a new High Priest gets selected by the clergy of the city. The current rulers are: King Efimia and High Priestess of Hephaestus, Archon Protarch Xanthippe.
Citizens of Olympia can also vote for representatives in the 12 Fields, Olympia's parliament they are given proportional representation per city and often are part of a party.
- A note on citizenship in Olympia. -
Citizenship is only granted to those who have completed voluntary military service of 4 years or to those who pay a high yearly tax to the government.
The second branch of government is the Gathering of the 12 Lords, they approve or deny laws that are proposed by the 12 Fields.
The third branch is the 7 Great Justices, Olympia's Supreme Court, all judges and lawyers in Olympia work for them.
The last branch is the military, with it's centre of command in Athena and it's centre of operation aboard the Ares, it is controlled by the Olympian cabinet via the Archon of Armed forces, it's Commander-in-Chief is Suji Yoshimoto, succeeding his father in the role.
Technology
Olympia is well known for it's massive mechanisms made of steel and wood as well for it's airships, staying in the air via blessings from the Gods.
