Zenophalia is a town at the western border of the Shire (as of 2023), west of the Republiek van Oranje en Purpur. It was built by SlinkyCoder9629.

History

The 17th Century

Founded in 1684 Zenophalia had struggles with standing out amongst other villages such as Gratzel, Xenonia and Phinius.

Soon after the official founding of the village, in 1684, Zenophalia was again threatened to cease to exist.

In 1688 Zenophalia offered to sign a peace pact with Xenonia, however when both leaders met their talks did not go well. A Church and a port was built to increase travellers coming to the village and trading resources.

Towards the end of the 17th century, the borders of the village were determined to be within that of Phinius. The two towns were neighbours and often fought against Xenonia's aggressive attacks.

The Dark Ages

The First Dark Age (1700-1736)

In 1701 the newly elected king Opusium I declared war on the previous allies of Phinius . In 1708 Phinius was destroyed, followed by Xenonia these invasions were both bloodbaths leaving no witnesses to the mass genocide. In 1710, Zenophalia tried to invade Gratzel but when they got there the town was already in ruins and the expensive expedition being wasted led to a great famine making people leave and found the villages of Oslem and Pagel. In 1712, villagers stormed the royal residence on Iridium Lane and hacked King Opusmium to death. In the following decade many attempts were made to re-establish the monarchy although none were successful. In 1724, after they had built some more fields the people of Zenophalia decided to set up a small council consisting of the richest families in the town. Although the famine lasted until 1736 The First Dark Age was now over but a new one would soon begin.

The Second Dark Age (1737-1745)

In 1737 a foreign priest from Pagel was killed by a soldier thinking he was a rebel, this sparked a war. Which lead to the battle of Skiruu Chapel, a small remote monastery in between the 2 towns, the battle started in 1739 and ended in 1741 the Zenophalian troops won but it took another 4 years to build their military back to what it was.

1845

Zenophalia had a war against it self in 1845 this is because half of the of the town hated smuggling (these owned Iodine Harbour) while the other half (these owned Phinius Harbour) liked it. Their minds were so divided, that after the massacre that took the life of a child of a couple of residents, war broke out between the two sides. Some say the culprits were not the murderers and were just revolutionaries. This war lasted for 3 years until a pact was signed with Oslem ( a small village on the coast of the town )

1867

Until 1867 , Zenophalia was governed by a treaty of peace signed with the Oslemics , this treaty forced the inhabitants to not eat fish or exile was certain. The pact was extremely troublesome and was signed over and over again, until a disagreement broke out between the parties then Zenophalia seized Oslem and the flag was redesigned.

Economy

Zenophalia has Iodine Harbour and plenty of infrastructure that are useful to inhabitants and companies. There's a few companies with locations in Zenophalia.

Different Cardinal Directions

Zenophalia uses a different system of cardinal directions. In Zenophalian law south is defined as from the center of Zenophalia to where the largest body of water is that can be called a sea. Basically, Zenophalia's cardinal directions are turned 90° counterclockwise.
