The Hold is the first citadel and fortified position built in the [[Solarian Empire]] after the exodus from [[Puesta del Sol]]. Construction was completed in the fourth year of the [[Solarian Empire #First Age | First Age]], when the pathway up was finished and the gatehouses were completed. The Hold sits on top of the only mountain on the Solarian Peninsula and around [[Sol]]. As such, it has a commanding view of practically all the surrounding land. On clear days, it might even be possible to view as far as [[Fulfwotz]]. The seven gatehouses leading up to the main courtyard of the Hold are placed along the winding path up, and are all easily defensible from ground assault. Two large towers connect to the Hold's main walls, and allow for defense and support of not only the pathway up but also of the nearby mountainside in the event soldiers try to rappel up.  .....to be cont. .....
