The town is renowned for its desert-style buildings, with homes predominantly shaped like yurts and constructed mainly from sandstone. This choice of material is not only practical for the environment but also lends a unique aesthetic to the town. The use of naturally tinted terracotta for accents adds a colorful and organic touch to the buildings.
One of the most notable features of these homes is their deep basements, where the living quarters are situated. This architectural design is a clever adaptation to the desert climate, helping maintain a constant temperature throughout the year, offering respite from the heat.
Sandalvania comprises approximately 40 yurt-shaped homes, arranged to foster a sense of community while respecting the individuality of each dwelling.
