Sachi Mayhaps
Sachi Mayhaps, often simply called Sachi, is a small village located on the far western edge of Postrema. Though originally a quiet and isolated community, Sachi now sits in the shadow of its towering eastern neighbor, Zephyr. Despite the encroaching influence of the larger city nearby, Sachi retains its rustic charm and village-scale layout.
Overview
Sachi is composed of compact, log-framed structures with cobblestone rooftops, clustered together in a semi-rectangular pattern. The village is surrounded by a dense, mushroom-dotted forest. Narrow streams and sugarcane gardens wind between the buildings, hinting at the community's agricultural roots. A modest rail yard borders the village, signaling Sachi’s integration into the broader transport system.
The exact origins of Sachi are not entirely clear, but it is widely believed to have been founded by Vetous.
Cultural Note
Locals and visitors sometimes refer to the settlement by its whimsical full name, Sachi Mayhaps. The meaning or origin of the name remains unknown, but it has lent the village a somewhat poetic reputation among Postreman travelers.
While Zephyr has grown into a modern metropolis, Sachi offers a quieter glimpse into the region’s past — a time before towering spires and endless infrastructure. Today, it stands as a subtle counterbalance to the urban sprawl, a reminder that small-scale community living still exists within reach of the Shire’s grandest cities.
