Mitunir

Mitunir is an extraordinary and mystical floating island and temple located within the Athitica subregion of Oldeshire, situated at the far eastern edge of the area. This unique structure, established by Shire Architect Aedesius, is a striking feature in Oldeshire's landscape, known for its otherworldly appearance and intriguing characteristics.

Geographic Location and Features

Mitunir defies conventional geography as it floats approximately 100 meters above the eastern sea. The island itself is composed of black obsidian and dark red 'netherrack' soil, which is known to spontaneously sprout tongues of fire.

An intriguing aspect of Mitunir is the shattered roadway made of rainbow-colored glass extending from the island. The road spans about 30 meters before ending abruptly, giving the impression of having shattered and collapsed into the sea below.

The temple of Mitunir, perched atop the floating island, is an architectural marvel standing at 80 meters tall. Constructed in a Daedric style that conveys a sense of foreboding, the temple is made from chiseled stone, netherrack red clay, purple terracotta, and dark red bricks. This imposing structure is further distinguished by the presence of a massive, seemingly sentient eyeball floating atop it. The eyeball, with its crystalline purple iris and galaxy-like pupil, is enveloped in towering jets of purple flame.

The interior of the temple contrasts starkly with its exterior. A brilliantly white chandelier hangs over a pristine mirrored floor, creating a reflective and luminous atmosphere. The temple houses a long dining table filled with desserts and another table full of gifts, with a sign reading “happy birthday, Calvin!”

Relation to Ritunim

Mitunir is often considered the antithesis of Ritunim, an angelic hall located in the north of the Shire. While Ritunim floats upon clouds and conveys a sense of serenity, Mitunir offers a darker, more mysterious counterpart.
