Holzdorf is a picturesque village in southern Oldeshire, known for its architectural charm and historical significance. Founded by Mrstu, like its sister settlement Ionia, Holzdorf is situated west of El Dorado and south of Ionia, adding to the rich tapestry of settlements in this part of Oldeshire.

Overview

The village's placement in southern Oldeshire, near key locations such as El Dorado and Ionia, makes it an integral part of the region. Holzdorf is structured similarly to Ionia, with a large central plaza serving as the heart of the village.

Holzdorf's buildings are notable for their aesthetic coherence and use of locally sourced materials. The village’s structures predominantly feature oak siding, timber beams, and chiseled stone tile roofs, creating a rustic yet elegant appearance. Like Ionia, the central plaza in Holzdorf is a hub for social and commercial activities, surrounded by homes and businesses. The large black-and-white striped lighthouse is a landmark of Holzdorf, contributing both to the village's navigational infrastructure and its visual identity. A large outdoor market area serves as a focal point for local commerce and community gatherings.

The village consists of 11 above-ground homes and businesses, each designed with attention to detail and aesthetic appeal. Many homes in Holzdorf feature finished basements, indicating a high standard of living and architectural sophistication.

Holzdorf’s train station, providing access to the Quintus Line, ensures the village is well-connected to other parts of Oldeshire, facilitating easy travel for residents and visitors.

A unique aspect of Holzdorf is its excavation site. A path from the settlement leads westward underground, opening up to a large circular chamber made of stone and dark red brick. The chamber is dramatically lit by the glow of lava flowing through three channels. At one point, this chamber was repurposed as an educational facility to impart knowledge about the Bakajin rank, adding a layer of historical and cultural education to the village.

Today, Holzdorf continues to be a vibrant community, its central plaza bustling with activity and its unique features like the lighthouse and excavation site adding to its appeal. The village maintains its traditional charm while offering modern amenities and a connection to the broader region.
