Gaijin Rank: Embracing Exploration

The Gaijin rank is the first rank on the Shire server, and welcomes newcomers to the vibrant virtual realm. The term "Gaijin" originates from Japanese, translating to "outsider," reflecting the initial status of these individuals as visitors to the server.

As Gaijin, players have the freedom to traverse the entire server, utilizing various modes of exploration, including walking, flying, warping, or riding the extensive rail lines. Interaction with fellow members is encouraged, fostering a sense of community within the server.

Gaijin holds a specific distinction – they are not authorized to build or modify the virtual world. This limitation serves as a bridge, inviting Gaijin to immerse themselves in the server's offerings while encouraging them to take the next step toward full membership.

The inception of the Gaijin rank dates back to late 2010 when Ctshiner, our first server admin, introduced the term to encapsulate the role of those starting their exploration as outsiders.
