Shire Agency of Technology and Science

Overview

The Shire Agency of Technology and Science (often abbreviated to S.A.T.S) is an agency specializing in the improvement, research, and development of scientific and technological projects throughout the Shire. Founded by James Harvey shortly before his death, the S.A.T.S is one of the few leading agencies dealing with science in the Shire; the main claim to fame for the SATS is the 8KA, an arithmetic and logic unit capable of adding two 8 bit numbers; the 8KA was based off of work done by Harvey from his tenure at the University of Clementine. The SATS hosts a variety of programs, open to the public. The Governmental Computing Program allows various empires and cities to access the 8KA for economic and military uses. A recent program by the SATS is the Transparency 2 All Program. In the future, the SATS will have a library dedicated to reports and analyses of the 8KA, and various other projects.

IRL Build History

Hi! I'm Rummi, and I'm the one who builds the SATS. I have had an interest in minecraft computers for some time, and for computers in general... its seems like I started having that interest years ago. I am building the 8KA, and I thought why not add some cool lore behind it. The 8KA, which is an 8 bit ALU, was started on the night of August 3rd. The idea of building it had been around since I first joined the Shire.
